Meet Your ToSA:

Hello! 

I'm Kristen Valenzuela and I am your Teacher on Special Assignment (ToSA) for ELA Intervention at SVMS.

 

I have been a public school teacher in Baldwin Park since August 2000. I've taught TK, Kindergarten, 1st grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade. I have been the Intervention TOSA at SVMS since 2021, servicing all grades(6th,7th and 8th). I have a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Elementary Reading. I am also a trainer for the district's writing program. I specialize in helping students in all grades here at SVMS to improve their reading and writing skills through intervention and tutoring sessions. You will find my weekly schedule on the next page. 

 

I also run the Matador Meadow on Tuesdays and Thursdays during brunch. This is a place for students to sit down, relax and read away from the hustle and bustle of the regular brunch area. We have blankets and pillows and beanbags to make the area comfortable and inviting. Students can also ask questions about the monthly reading challenge and check out books to meet the challenge requirements.
